Javier Pérez González

Eat Spanish Founder Member & Treasurer.

Born at La Palma, The Canary Islands, Spain.

Although I studied a Bachelor’s Degree in Administration and Business Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, since I was a teenager I always dreamt about studying what I really love, the thing that is my true passion in life: cooking.

I always knew that I wanted to do it in the best cooking school and in my country, Spain, but I never could until 2014. It was back then where I made one of the best decisions in my life and decided to make my dream come true and, two years later, in 2016, I finished my studies at Luis Irizar´s Cooking School in San Sebastian, Basque Country.

Basically, during my life I have worked in four different areas. I have knowledge and strong experience in Real Estate, in Tourism focused in exclusive & charming Boutique Hotels, in the Sunglasses & Optical sector and also in several Michelin-starred restaurants.

I left home at 16 and I feel like an authentic Palmero, Chicharrero, Madrileño, New Yorker, Miameño, Cancunense, Playense, Tulumnense, Donostiarra, Sydneysider and now Adelaidean.

All these places where I have lived have given to me great and unforgettable experiences and have had a strong influence on my way to see life.

If I had to describe myself, I could say that I am a lover of good food and good wine, I love to laugh, I value honesty and loyalty of the people, I like the truth, I do not like to waste time with liars, I love traveling and I’m an entrepreneur, enthusiastic, dreamer, nonconformist, sportsman and a professional cook as well.

Nowadays, I am focused on new challenges and interesting projects in Australia, because of that I got the NSW Real Estate License, the SA Registered Land Agent License and the Auctioneer accreditation.

Last but not least, I am delighted and honored to be part of “Eat Spanish” as a founder member of the first Official Spanish Gastronomic Association in Australia, which its main goal is to protect the diversity of the Spanish culinary heritage.

I am really excited about this awesome project because I can help to showcase our Spanish gastronomy, support Spanish products and their importers.

We have created a group of great professionals with different backgrounds that have the huge responsibility of promoting the variety of our regional gastronomy, defending our traditional recipes and ensuring the continuity and existence of our local and regional products, and with such an amazing team we are sure that Eat Spanish will become sooner rather than later, the point of reference for Spanish food in Australia.
